Poland for the long weekend

On the November 1st long weekend I flew to Poland to spend some time with my family in Wrocław and Swidnica...

The colourful centre of Wroclaw. This is 'Painter's Street' and it has been beautifully restored.

Wandering around the old centre of Wroclaw on my own, I got a bit hungry and looked for a nice cafe. I could only find 'foreign-themed' ones, so eventually settled on this cute French-style place, Monsieur Café and ordered...what I always have in Luxembourg. So much for eating authentic Polish food!

As it was All Saint's Day on the 1st, we visited the cemetery to light candles and lay flowers (but we went on Saturday, so luckily no crowds).

It's still very easy to find scenes straight from the past in Poland, like this one here. Crumbling walls, dashchund dog, old man with cap, Polish antiques...

A few hours before I had to leave to catch my flight home, my cousin and I discovered this flea market taking up the whole centre of Swidnica. Amazing prices - wish I had a car with me to take some things back! But I got a little wild boar charm and a vintage traveller's iron :)
